Stardust Siege is intended for play on a phone (in landscape mode) - but it works in desktop mode too.

The concept

Two gravity wells are all that stand between the drifting stardust and the things coming through the middle of your screen. You don't shoot in Stardust Siege. You control one attractor on each side of the playfield, and everything you do is done by moving them: gathering loose dust into orbit, slinging it across the divide into your enemies, or steering a stream into a target is spent. Stardust is your ammunition!

Twenty-two hand-authored levels

The supplied campaign eases you into the game, as you encounter more and more different enemies that need different strategies to handle. Some levels are easy, some are not - you will quickly discover which is which.

The dust matters as much as the enemies

Every level has its own weather. Some feed you generous streams of dust, some rain from above, or blow one-sided crosswinds you have to work with; some are near-famine, where a fragile crystal cache is the only resupply you'll get and finishing a fight cheaply is the whole puzzle.

Features

  • 22 levels, 15 enemy types, two multi-part bosses
  • Three star ratings per level, with the first star as the pass mark
  • Custom Newtonian dust simulation — thousands of particles, no physics engine
  • A fully procedural soundscape: every sound is synthesised, no samples
  • Plays with mouse or touch; two fingers control both wells at once
  • Progress saves in your browser, with export/import codes to move it

Controls

Press or drag on the left or right side of the screen to move that side's attractor. On a touchscreen, two fingers work independently.
